[SOHH highlights a hot record on Tuesdays and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the track in Singled Out. After Lecrae dissected his "Was It Worth It" record, California rapper Billionaire Buck breaks down his Lil Wayne-assisted "Streets Raised Me" anthem.]
This record with Lil Wayne really came together from my grind.
Everybody's been watching me do my thing and I stay around certain people so when certain artists come around me, I just keep my mouth closed and stay productive. That's really how "Streets Raised Me" came together.
The song didn't really take me too long to do. It's just real life music to me.
I did this song in my downtown studio and then when it came time to record it, I went to a bigger studio. It's just a great thing for me. I've had a lot of great features over these past few months. I've had a Jeezy feature and others while I was out in Atlanta. It's all been good.
You just have to stay with what you're doing and stay on the gas and people are going to pay attention to you. They're going to see your craft.
"Streets Raised Me" is going to be off a mixtape I have coming out soon and you're going to see some other features too that really should be for sale but I'm putting them out for free. The EP has some sleepers too.
Everybody needs to stay tuned. Billionaire Buck is definitely on deck.
