Roc Nation Sports head Jay Z is not shying away from his love for college sports months after NFL rookie Geno Smith joined his growing roster and is reportedly targeting Louisville star quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

While details are still coming together, reports claim Bridgewater and Roc Nation Sports have already sparked some serious discussions.

Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is considering having rapper Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports represent him, NationalFootballPost.com reported Wednesday afternoon. The web site reported that two sources said Bridgewater -- who announced his intention to turn pro Wednesday -- has talked with Roc Nation, which is owned by Jay Z, about serving as his representative. The web site said South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney also has an interest in using Roc Nation. (NFL)

Experiencing the highs and lows of the NFL in his rookie season, Jets quarterback Geno Smith recently said Jigga had been very influential with his off-field advice.

"I talk to Jay a lot," Smith told The Post. "He gave me some good advice. He told me to not take [criticism] personally. It's not that people don't like me. It's not at me. It's the position that I'm in. Just realize the position that I'm in comes with a lot of scrutiny. You can't take it personally. You just have to live your daily life." (New York Post)

Last month, Roc Nation Sports star Skylar Diggins gave props to Mr. Carter and his staff for having her back since joining a few months ago.

"He's amazing and the whole Roc Nation family is amazing," Diggs responded when asked how Jay has been as a representative. "[They're] just people, everything they touch turns to gold and they just want to move mountains for you and it's great working with people that you actually like. ... [College gift?] I don't know what you're talking about. [laughs] Ha! I'm still trying to figure [the car buttons] out, to be honest. Six months in and [I'm] still trying to figure it out. [Is it outside the studio?] No, it's not. [laughs] It's not." ("Crowd Goes Wild")

In December, Young Hov managed to get out of a sticky situation involving Geno's Roc Nation Sports recruitment.

The NFLPA had been investigating whether Jay Z, who is not a certified NFL agent, recruited Smith against union rules before this past year's draft. In a memo to all agents Friday, obtained by USA TODAY Sports, the NFLPA clarified the so-called "runner rule," saying it permits non-certified associates to attend an introductory meeting with potential clients to present the full range of services offered by the agency. The meeting must take place at the agent's place of business and is limited to one per potential client. No further contact may occur between the potential client and the agent's uncertified business associates. (USA Today)
