[SOHH highlights a hot record on Tuesdays and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the track in Singled Out. After Billionaire Buck broke down his Lil Wayne-assisted "Streets Raised Me" anthem, Nicki Minaj's protégé Parker Ighile dissects his new "The Opposition."]

I started writing "The Opposition" after a messy breakup, the relationship really started heading in the wrong direction and it got to a point where we were arguing way too much and the good times were few and far between.

Around that time I had watched a film called 'Warrior' about two brothers who were opponents but really did love one another, I used this as my inspiration for the concept of the song.

With that picture of me and my ex as opponents in my head it was pretty easy to narrate what had happened between us. Every line of the song is drawn from that situation.

It got to a point where if she said something was black, I'd have to say that it's white just to not be on her side, obviously I've grown up a lot since then but I feel like that's something everybody can relate to.
