Bad Boy Records protégé French Montana has announced plans to flip a delayed Mac & Cheese 4 mixtape and turn it into his official follow-up to last year's Excuse My French studio debut.

Picking up where his previously free download projects left off, Montana said his upcoming release will cater to his fans' high expectations.

Montana has recently worked with a range of artists, from Miley Cyrus to will.i.am, and is tapping into his eclectic Rolodex for Mac & Cheese 4, including a track with Macklemore called "Nightmare." But the one person who he really wants is mostly unattainable. "The only person I wish I could work with right now is Max B," Montana says about his beloved, incarcerated mentor. (Rolling Stone)

The New York native hinted at plans to work with rap star Kanye West for a joint record.

Elsewhere, French is collaborating with high-profile artists on their projects including Rick Ross's Mastermind and Kanye West's next album. "We're supposed to be working on a couple of songs together for his album," he says of working with West. "He got a special project coming out." It's unclear what project Kanye is working on but the rapper/producer has mentioned a new eight-song album previously, and was recently spotted in studio sessions with Tyga. (Rolling Stone)

Montana released his latest underground project to the masses last Thursday (January 2).

French Montana drops his new mixtape Coke Boys 4. It's a family affair as the 29-year-old rapper from South Bronx also brings along his crew that shares the same namesake as the mixtape title. Chinx Drugz, Lil Durk, Cheeze, and Flip are all present on this latest installment, as well as outside veteran MC's like Jadakiss and the always-enthusiastic Diddy. With French riding high off his debut album Excuse My French and hit single "Ain't Worried About Nothin'" in 2013, he looks to set a similar tone of success in 2014 with Coke Boys 4. (Complex)

Back in November, Montana featured longtime pal Max B in his Excuse My French music video, "Once In a While."

French Montana kicks back and reflects on his journey in the video to "Once In a While," the thumping opener to his debut album, Excuse My French. With cameo appearances from Drake, Kanye West, Rick Ross, Diddy and, of course, Max B, who provides the opening interlude, the Eif Rivera-directed clip compiles footage from live shows, backstage parties and video shoots into a visual recap of the Coke Boys general's whirlwind year.
