A day after reports claimed incarcerated rapper Lil Boosie would not be a free man until next summer, his brother has come forward with a new release date.
According to Taquari Hatch, Boosie's official release date is in May but he expects Bad Azz to be home within the next two months.
Taquari Hatch told NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune that a previously reported date of Aug. 18, 2014 wasn't accurate. Due to a slow down in the paperwork process at the Louisiana Department of Safety and Corrections, the automated offender locator system did not yet reflect the time off of his brother's sentence that had been accrued, he said. Torrence Hatch's current date of release is officially set for May 16, 2014, according to Taquari Hatch, thanks to a substance abuse class Torrence Hatch recently completed. Furthermore, Taquari Hatch expects Torrence Hatch will be out Feb. 16, 2014 once the rapper completes two additional classes at the Louisiana State Penitentiary. (NOLA)
Boosie's brother also said fans should expect him to immediately head to the studio following his release.
Whenever Torrence Hatch is released, he'll be busy. He's written more than 600 songs in the past four years as well as a book. "He has plans to go straight to the studio to begin working on an album as well as his tour," Taquari Hatch said, who usually visits his brother twice a month. Lil Boosie is already scheduled for a music tour in "late spring, early summer." (NOLA)
Initial reports suggested Boosie would remain behind bars until August.
Rumors have been circulating for months that Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie, who has been incarcerated since 2009, would be returning home from prison soon. So far, however, an actual date has just been a matter of speculation. According to New Orleans' NOLA.com, there's now a date people can look forward to: August 18, 2014. That's the date on record with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, the publication reported. Based on a separate conversation with Pam Laborde, the agency's communications director, NOLA.com added that Boosie will be under supervision until June 17, 2018. (Complex)
Recently, LB's attorney claimed new music from the rapper was on deck along with a pending release date.
Lil Boosie, the Baton Rogue rapper who is currently incarcerated on drug charges, may be seeing the light of day soon. Journalist Jeff Weiss, who covered Boosie's trial for Rolling Stone, spoke to the rapper's attorneys who shared with him information regarding his release and new music. According to Weiss's tweets, the judge agreed to return Boosie's hard drive containing some unreleased tracks. He also says attorneys believe he could be released in the next few months. "Just got word that judges have agreed to give back Boosie's hard drives and computers. It means a whole lot of new Boosie music coming soon." "No official release date yet for Boosie's return. But his attorneys say no more than four to five months from today." (XXL Mag)
