President Barack Obama recently shared a few words about rap star Kanye West and revealed just how much he rocks with reality television hottie Kim Kardashian's soon-to-be husband.
In an excerpt from President Obama's new People feature, the head of state admitted Ye's tunes were on his iPad.
The president, who was once caught insulting Kanye West following an incident at the MTV Video Music Awards involving Taylor Swift, praised West's talent. "Kanye's music is outstanding though. I've got a lot of his stuff on my iPad. If it was a concert, then I might not mind listening to him," Obama said. (Politico)
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama also reportedly spoke on their children's admiration for music stars like R&B diva Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.
MRS OBAMA: They love Jay Z. They love Beyoncé. Sasha is still a One Direction fan, although I think Malia has become a little less into boy bands. But I don't think they view these folks as role models. They're not looking to them to define their character. I think they look to us for that still. THE PRESIDENT: They've gotten to know Beyoncé, and she has always been very sweet to them. So they're people that they think highly of. But I agree that if you're talking about their values or career ideas, I think their mom has a little more influence over that than anybody else. (TIME)
Kanye recently came under fire when he spoke on the struggles President Obama has gone through since being in office.
Mr. West reportedly made the statements during an interview on New York City's Hip Hop and R&B radio station Power 105.1 FM. The comments came to light after the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz printed them on Friday. According to reports, Mr. West remarked during the interview: "Man, let me tell you about George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money. People want to say Obama can't make these moves or he's not executing. That's because he ain't got those connections. Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don't have the same connection as oil people." (ADL)
Back in October, Kanye said Kim K had more appeal to Vogue readers than the First Lady.
It's not exactly a surprise that Kanye West is Kim Kardashian's biggest fan. The 36-year-old musician sang his fiancée's praises during an On Air With Ryan Seacrest radio interview on Tuesday, Oct. 29. In fact, he's lobbying to get the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star her first Vogue cover. "There's no way Kim Kardashian shouldn't be on the cover of Vogue. She's like the most intriguing woman right now. She's got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday," he said, noting that reality stars have often been overlooked by mainstream fashion magazines. "And collectively, we're the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day." (E! News)
