[SOHH highlights a hot record on Tuesdays and offers a unique look at the track in Singled Out. After UGK producer Cory Mo broke down his "Chose Me" anthem, Grand Hustle stud Young Dro dishes out how his T.I.-featured "Bad B*tch" came together.]
"Bad B*tch" came together because it was just about us being thought of as providers and gentlemen. There's only one thing that we really need. It's like the way of life.
What we're really saying on here is, "With all this money you got, don't you want a bad b*tch?" You feel me? It's like, with all of this money I got, I'm bound to have a bad b*tch. I can pretty much speak for all of us considering what we have in our vicinity, that's what made us want to make the song.
"Bad B*tch" came about because it's something that all black men desire. After being slaved and raped in the industry, we've never been able to sit down and enjoy things. So if you get that money back, ah man, you want a bad b*tch. So me, Spodee and Tip all had that in mind and that's how we got the song.
This song wasn't actually in the works for a minute. Tip came up with the song and then me and Problem had started getting in and soon after we started working, everything started coming together. Problem had hit me up like, "Dro, let's go to work." We did another track in like 20 minutes.
There's going to be a lot of stuff you can look forward to hearing from Grand Hustle.
