After a successful Watch the Thorne tour with Jay Z last year, rap star Kanye West has recruited West Coast sensation Kendrick Lamar for his new The Yeezy Tour slated to kick-off next month.
Buzz behind the unexpected cross country venue trek surfaced online Friday (September 6).
Kanye West has announced a 23-city trek throughout North America in support of his latest album. "The Yeezus Tour," which is being presented by AEG Live, will open on Oct. 19 in Seattle and close out Dec. 7 in Houston, with Kendrick Lamar opening on all but five dates. The tour will be making stops in most major outlets including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Boston and New York City, where West will entertain both Brooklyn and Manhattan only four days apart. Prior to the widespread reports, Ye announced the tour via a simple Twitter post.
At 9 a.m. this morning, Kanye West tweeted the one word that some music fans have been waiting for all summer: "TOUR." Attached was a poster for West's upcoming "Yeezus" tour, followed shortly by the official announcement from promoter AEG Live that he'll be stopping in 23 cities, including Tampa. (The Tampa Tribune)
Mr. West is expected to also unveil a special guest at a few of his concert venues.
