Former G-Unit member Game is going with ex-pal 50 Cent's blueprint by funding the funeral cost for a slain Los Angeles six-year-old girl who lost her life last weekend.
According to reports, the West Coast rapper is putting up thousands of dollars to cover late child Tiana Ricks' funeral.
The Game is giving $10,000 to the family of a 6-year-old girl who was shot and killed outside her family's L.A. home this weekend in order to help out with funeral costs ... TMZ has learned. The story is heartbreaking -- 6-year-old Tiana Ricks was shot and killed when two men approached her family's home in Moreno Valley and opened fire, striking Tiana and her father. As she lay dying, Tiana reportedly turned to her father and asked, "Are you okay, Daddy?" The Game read about the tragedy and tweeted, "This very sad story hit me in a place nothing ever has ... Tiana did not know she was shot & kept asking was her father okay." So Game decided he wanted to help -- tracking down Tiana's family and pledging $10k to cover funeral costs. (TMZ)
The slain child's mother has confirmed Game's generous contribution and said it would help the overall cost.
FYI -- Game recently announced he's on a mission to give away $1,000,000 of his own money to those in need -- he calls it TheRobinHoodProject -- and this is just one of his charitable contributions. TMZ spoke with Tiana's mother Marquia Macklin who tells us, "Game told me that he heard about my story and was really sorry. He said that he wanted to help out and put me in touch with his financial team." We're told the money is being wired to Marquia today. Tiana's funeral will be Saturday. While Marquia says she's extremely grateful for Game's generosity, she tells us, "It costs so much to bury her ... sadly $10,000 only covers half of the casket and the plot." As for the shooting, cops are still on the hunt for the culprits -- and encourage anyone with information to contact the Moreno Valley Police Department. (TMZ)
Earlier this summer, Game spoke on the importance of fatherhood and how blessed he is to have kids.
"North West, one time for North West. Kanye, I'm gonna get you a cigar, man. I'm gonna stuff it with a little California if you know what I mean," Game said in an interview. "Fatherhood is beautiful, enjoy it man. A baby girl is nothing but a blessing. I had two boys and when I had my baby girl, it rechanged my life for a third time. The best of luck with North West and that's a dope a** f*cking name. I did the best I could with Cali Dream. I think it's right up there with North West. Ivy Blue. Is it Ivy Blue or Blue Ivy? Blue Ivy. ... Keep getting creative with these kids names. But congratulations to Kim K, Kim K West, Kanye and North West. That's dope man." (Rap-Up TV)
A few months ago, 50 Cent revealed a generous and unexpected contribution he made to the family of a slain New York teenager from his old neighborhood.
The bus was hit a number of times, police sources sad and one bullet burst through a window, striking Daja Robinson, in the head. Word broke that the "We Up" rapper helped to pay for Robinson's funeral via social media. 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, posted a message on his Facebook page: "People always try and paint negative images about me I'm the most genuine down to earth person and I didn't forget where I came from I came through for baby girl by providing a horse and carriage for her. She was pretty, innocent and didn't deserve to die like that R.I.P D'Asia Robinson." (MStarz)
