G.O.O.D Music's Big Sean recently discussed name-dropping Drake and a few other notable hip-hop heavyweights and said he believes he can hold his own against any rapper.,/p>

Sean said he would not downplay his rap ability and stressed the importance of all hip-hop artists viewing themselves as elite.

"I'm a real-ass dude, but I'm a humble dude, too. I'm not saying I'm a better rapper than Jay Z, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is you can hop on a song and out rap somebody. It's just about that song. Like if you don't think you're the best, then I don't know what you're doing out here." (VIBE)

During a recent listening session, Sean talked about putting together his new Hall of Fame sophomore album and how far he is willing to go to prove he's an elite emcee.

"Sometimes people don't consider Big Sean as one of the best rappers because Big Sean has only put out one album," Sean explained. "Going into this album, I had the mind state of thinking, 'All right, I've been on basically songs with everybody I really respect in the rap game.' From Jay Z to Kanye to the newcomers, the new guys. And I always stand on my own, I always stand out and you can never say I've never done a feature where someone's out-rapped me on and it's crazy because a lot of those songs, I submit my verse first and then people like Kanye or Jay Z or whoever will get it. It just goes to show you I'm here for a reason, I wonder why people don't consider Big Sean as one of the best rapeprs. They might consider J. Cole is one of the best rappers, they might consider Drake one of the best rappers. I'll hop on a song with Drake and out rap him, you know what I'm saying? And that's my homie. [laughs] I'm here to be a legend." (Real Talk NY)

Last summer, the Detroit native said he would push hip-hop's boundaries to become the best.

"He actually told me that I was going to be the best. But I took that as the potential, because he speaks with so much passion," Big Sean said in an interview referring to Kanye West. "What he meant was, I'm his protégé, he took me under his wing. I'm in the studio hanging with him and Jay-Z, I'm in the studio with Nas, I'm in the studio with everybody, and it's like, if I don't take it past where they took it, then what the hell am I doin'?" Confident in his own style, Big Sean previously told SOHH he would include himself in our Top 5 Dead or Alive challenge.

"Big Sean goes in there because I'm my favorite rapper. H*ll yeah. I'm deserving of being in the Hall of Fame because I changed hip-hop with a rap star before even dropping my first album. Everybody in the game you can think from Lil Wayne to Drake were influenced [by me]. They borrowed my style, [and] it showed me how far I can go in this rap game. I'm only 22." (SOHH's Top 5 D.O.A.)
