Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz has revealed a decision to let go of his personal bodyguard months after he fell victim to a robbery in San Francisco, California during the daytime.
Although Chainz appeared to dance around why he fired his head security honcho, the Def Jam rapper did hint at flaws in how situations were handled.
"He's not my bodyguard anymore," Chainz said in an interview. "I don't have anything negative to say. Coming from where I come from, there's certain instincts that you have. There's certain reflexes you have, and I can't expect everyone [to have those]. You know, they have fire drills in school. But they don't tell you what's going to happen if it's a real fire in the school. They don't expect people to line up, and stop drop and roll." (VLAD TV)
Back in July, Deuce said the biggest lesson he learned from the robbery was to run from deadly situations and to make wiser decisions.
"Let me tell you something. Anybody that tells you they wouldn't run hasn't been in situations like me. I've been a felon since I was 15. Most kids at that age might still be sleeping in the same bed with their siblings. I'm trying to grow to be a wiser person. If you heard shots in Manhattan, Pablo, what would you do?," Chainz asked the interviewer. "Exactly. But you know I learned from the experience and like I said I'm striving to be a wiser person." The robbers posted images of his personal and confidential information online last June.
Before Video of rapper 2 Chainz robbery at gun point went viral, the rapper denied the claims because the robbers didn't post the pictures of his valuables online... but now the photos have gone viral. The robbers may be caught in day now since photos of the rapper's driver license and credit card were posted online for the world to see. The person that uploaded the images made sure to display the rapper's address and credit card number. (M Starz)
The rapper later came forward to address the unexpected move and downplayed its seriousness.
"Cards get canceled and license cost 5 dollars , been shot at before and vice versa, I'm here 4 a reason so get use to U CAN'T STOP DIS SHT," Chainz tweeted June 26th. (2 Chainz's Twitter)
A few weeks prior, he came clean on being robbed at gunpoint while in Cali.
"I saw the gun first," 2 Chainz told Emperor Searcy, Mz Shyneka and Mister Smith. "It was like a .357. It was so heavy he couldn't really hold it. The gun was so big. That's what made me take off running. ... When I went into the street, there was another dude with a whole 'nother gun. ... That's when I knew it wasn't like an episode of Punk'd. I was like this is real...I had bullet fragments in my hair...I think he thought he shot me. ... I'm just excited about life. I'm so turnt up, you can't turn me down. ... I'm just geeked about life. Then when I saw the footage, I'm like it was real. They was on my a**!' This was a sign. That's all it was. I come from this." (Hot 107.9)
His hired muscle Hammer Strength previously said the entire crew were approached by three gunmen shortly after arriving in town.
"We went downtown to San Francisco -- it's broad daylight, like 4:30 in the afternoon. People were walking around and everything -- all of a sudden three dudes just jumped out with huge guns, .357 Magnums. They pointed the guns at us and we was like 'Whoa!' We thought it was a joke for a minute. We looked at them, we stopped, kinda paused. We thought it was a joke. Then all we heard was, '2 Chainz give it up.' So we like stood there and didn't do anything, and we kinda like froze, 'cause we wanted to see if this was real. All of a sudden, the next thing you know, 2 Chainz kinda like backed up a little bit. And then he said, 'Give it up. Give it up.' And then all of a sudden he took off. He took off running first. When he took off running, we took off running. Then all of a sudden these dudes, they just start shooting. I don't know where they shot at." (Power 107.5)
