News: Mannie Fresh & Birdman Put Differences Aside, Reunite In NYC W/ Hot Boys

Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman and former Big Tymers partner Mannie Fresh managed to end their publicized dispute toward one another and celebrate the company they helped to flourish this week in New York City.
The Big Tymers, plus other notable Cash Money artists, came together for a tribute-based BMI Awards ceremony.
Past and present Cash Money Records stars reunited in celebration of label founders Brian "Birdman" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams at this year's Broadcast Music, Inc.'s R&B/Hip-Hop Awards held in New York City's Manhattan Center Thursday (Aug. 22). Ray J split hosting duties with BMI President and CEO Del Bryant and Vice President Catherine Brewton while Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Turk, Mack Maine and Mannie Fresh were all on hand to salute Birdman and Slim's coveted BMI Icon honor, spotlighting their "unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers." The night became even more memorable when former Cash Money artists Juvenile, Turk and Mannie linked up for a Hot Boys tribute.
The duo was also treated to a star-studded music tribute featuring performances from DJ Khaled, Mystikal, Future, Curren$y, Ace Hood, Busta Rhymes and more. Each rapper did their interpretation of a Cash Money classic, leading up to a Hot Boys reunion set of "Bling Bling" performed by Juve, Fresh and Turk. (BET)
Cash Money/Young Money star Nicki Minaj also stole the show by picking up some wins.
Nicki Minaj and Benny Blanco shared the Songwriter of the Year crown by each writing four songs that rank among the year's most-performed. Nicki's top contributions include "Dance (A$$)," "Girl On Fire," "Make Me Proud," and "Starships." Benny Blanco was recognized for "Diamonds," "Heart Attack," "Payphone," and "Work Hard Play Hard." Nicki Minaj's ubiquitous "Starships" earned Song of the Year honors for its writers Minaj, Wayne Hector, and RedOne, as well as publishers Harajuku Barbie Music, Money Mack Music, Songs of RedOne, Songs of Universal, Inc., Sony/ATV Songs, LLC and Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp. The YMCMB team is expected to gain some more mainstream attention at this upcoming weekend's MTV Video Music Awards.
The Young Money Entertainment/Cash Money Records crew moves on from awards show to awards show this weekend, with MTV's Video Music Awards scheduled for Sunday, August 25 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Following the awards presentation, Lil Wayne, the Williams brothers and the rest of the team host an after-party to benefit the American Diabetes Association of Greater New York at Skylight One Hanson, directly across the street from the Barclays Center.
