"Glee" actress Naya Rivera is taking a big step into the music industry spotlight and receiving some help from rap star boyfriend Big Sean with a new track called "Sorry."
While details are still fuzzy, the song's 30-second teaser has started making its rounds online.
In between promoting his upcoming album Hall of Fame, Big Sean lends a hand to his girlfriend Naya Rivera. The "Glee" star launches her music career with her first single "Sorry." The funky record features a digitized hook, while the full version boasts a verse from the Detroit player himself. "It's been a long time coming and I'm so happy to share my music with you all," tweeted Naya. (Rap-Up)
The 26-year-old actress reportedly inked a record deal two years ago.
Glee star Naya Rivera is reportedly on the verge of launching a solo music career. According to EW, Rivera has now signed a deal with Columbia Records to record a solo album. She will allegedly begin work on her debut LP once the current Glee tour finishes later this summer. The actress first appeared in a minor role on the first season of Glee, but was upgraded to a series regular for the recently-concluded second season. Her character Santana Lopez has gone on to receive an increased amount of airtime this season, featuring in more solo songs and discovering that she is a lesbian. Rivera is now the third Glee star to embark on a music career alongside the show, following album launches by both Matthew Morrison and Mark Salling. (Digital Spy)
Earlier this month, Rivera revealed where she had her first date with Sean.
"We met a while ago and we went to this little Italian restaurant for our first date," she revealed. "[How long have we been official?] I don't know, you should ask him. [laughs] He's really supportive of the character that I play [on 'Glee']. Everyday when we go out, he sees fans come up [to me] and I tell him stories about people thanking me for playing this character; this helps them come out to their friends and family. He thinks it's so cool." (VIBE Vixen)
Recently, the Detroit native dished out his reaction to people going crazy over his new hook-up.
"I had no idea it was going to be like that," Sean said when asked about his reaction to his relationship status going public. "It's funny because Naya, I've been dating her for a little while -- I guess that [42 movie premiere] event was one of the first big events that came up while I was dating her. We was like, 'Let's go to it,' because we both wanted to go. And you know, I'm kind of a private person, she's a private person and the thing is I had a girlfriend too before that who I've been with [for a long time]. I've always been in a relationship since I was about 18 or 19, [that's] when I got with her. Things didn't work out but not 'cause of all this -- sometimes when you're with someone, you're 18 and you grow up, and it was long distance too, she lived in New York and I lived in LA, it was just, like, you grow apart as people. ... As far as Naya, it's something new. ... Naya is very cool. Our relationship is cool. Yeah, she's tight." (The Urban Informer)
