Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj continues to pave new lanes outside of hip-hop and has announced plans to release a new fragrance in the coming months.
According to Nicki, her upcoming new line is called Minajesty.
The bottle is shaped in her bust with a curly pink wig and red bustier bra. The scent is described as having juicy notes of peach, red currant, and lemon, with magnolia, pink frangipani, and tiger orchid in the heart. The base consists of tonka, vanilla, and musk notes. "Minajesty smells like a passionate love affair," said Nicki. "Mysterious and sexy. An unforgettable and hypnotizing scent." She filmed a commercial for the perfume earlier this month with famed photographer David LaChapelle, who shot her M.A.C VIVA GLAM campaign. (Rap-Up)
Some media outlets believe We The Best CEO DJ Khaled proposing to Nicki Minaj last week was a publicity stunt for her new announcement.
Is the Nicki Minaj engagement to DJ Khaled now a marketing publicity stunt for the newly announced Minajesty fragrance? The Nicki Minaj engagement story got crazy fairly quickly. One Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled rumors had the singer filing a restraining order. Some claimed DJ Khaled staged the event to promote his upcoming album. Some Nick Minaj rumors claimed the singer accepted the engagement proposal by DJ Khaled because she was spotted wearing a diamond ring. But some people claim Nick Minaj wasn't wearing an engagement ring. The diamond ring supposedly has been owned by Nicki Minaj for years. (Inquistr)
Earlier this year, Minaj made headlines for announcing a Kmart clothing line partnership.
We can't say we were surprised when we heard that Nicki Minaj and Adam Levine would be launching their own clothing and accessories lines at Kmart and Shop Your Way in 2013. The two musicians-turned-reality-show-judges will "design and develop their collections with Kmart to reflect their strong creative talents, expressive personalities, and distinctive individual styles," according to the press release. I mean, Nicki has been very openly shopping around her potential clothing line since last August, and even back then said, "My biggest goal was to make a line that was going to be affordable to my fans and also rich enough in quality that they'll feel like they're wearing exactly what I'm wearing." And for Adam, well, remember he launched a clothing collection (called 222) back in 2010, and since then has been flirting in and out of fashion world by performing at the Victoria's Secret runway show and releasing his first-ever fragrance? Yep, we've been keeping our eyes on y'all! (MTV Style)
Nicki previously spoke on the gear dropping sometime this year back in November.
"That's the big thing I'm looking forward to next year, the clothing line," Nicki said in an interview. "The clothing line's going to be so, so, so freaking cute. You guys are going to love it. But uh, I don't know. I'm not really a lingerie type of girl. I'm like a t-shirt and panties type of girl. Lingerie's stupid! [laughs]" (Tim Westwood TV)
