Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is giving movie fans the inside scoop on an upcoming new flick called Pacific Rim set to hit theaters next week.

Yeezy went as far as to describe the new flick as one of his all-time favorites.

"I saw a pre-screening of Pacific Rim yesterday and it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time.," Ye tweeted July 4th.
"This is not another "Robot" movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master." (Kanye West's Twitter)

The new movie has already received rave reviews from various media outlets.

When Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim hits theaters in a week or so there's one thing the director and the man who headed up his flick's visual effects--Industrial Light & Magic's John Knoll--can't wait for audiences to see: the battle in Hong Kong. The spoiler-free version of what happens is this: It's a nearly 20-minute kaiju-versus-mecha brawl that, of course, takes place in Hong Kong. According to the men who spent months on the face-off between the kaiju and robots (known as Jaegers in the movie), it's epic. (Wired)

Outside of his recommendations, Ye has been more active on Twitter as of late, most recently revealing his Father's Day gift from girlfriend Kim Kardashian.

What do you get the dad who has everything? To celebrate his first Father's Day, Kim Kardashian gave Kanye West a pair of mice signed by Apple founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Kanye revealed the presents on Twitter. "one of the other gifts my girl gave me for fathers day," tweeted 'Ye. Kim also invited Woz to meet Kanye as a gift for his 36th birthday. During his visit to the couple's house, the tech pioneer also met their daughter North West. (Rap-Up)

In a recent New York Times interview, Ye boasted about his knack for attaching himself to trend-setting movements.

"I've been connected to the most culturally important albums of the past four years, the most influential artists of the past ten years. You have like, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, Henry Ford, Howard Hughes, Nicolas Ghesquière, Anna Wintour, David Stern. I think that's a responsibility that I have, to push possibilities, to show people: "This is the level that things could be at." So when you get something that has the name Kanye West on it, it's supposed to be pushing the furthest possibilities. I will be the leader of a company that ends up being worth billions of dollars, because I got the answers. I understand culture. I am the nucleus." (New York Times)
