We The Best's DJ Khaled may be in love with music but he also has a place in his heart for Young Money's Nicki Minaj and has asked for her hand in marriage.
In the 90-second clip, Khaled professes his love for the twerk star and explains why they would make a perfect couple.
"Nicki Minaj, I'm at MTV, I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you to be mine. I'm here at MTV because it's a world wide network and the only reason I'm not telling you this face-to-face is because I understand that you're busy. I'm gonna be honest with you, I want to marry you. ... Nicki Minaj, will you marry me? We got the same symptons, we both suffer from success." (MTV)
Back in 2010, Young Money's Drake said his mom actually believed they were married after pranking fans on Twitter.
"My mom was actually like, 'What happened? How did you elope?' " the rapper, 23, told PEOPLE at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday. "But we were just joking around. I never thought it would get so out of hand...Ironically, I got a ring for myself, so people were like, 'Aw, you got married, and you have a ring you're wearing. People still think it's real. I'll look at a girl, and she'll be like, 'You're a married man. You shouldn't look at me that way.'" (PEOPLE)
Minaj previously spoke to DJ Drama and said she never married her labelmate.
"No, Drama, don't be silly," Minaj told Drama when asked about expecting kids with Drake. "Drake is just my little brother and I kid with him all the time. That's all. Yes, yes, we were just being crazy and I think we were a little bit bored. I wouldn't say we were bored, but we were being just mischievous. I did another interview and they asked me and I said, everyday I see things written about me that aren't true. So I wanted to kinda give the blogs a little bit of payback and put my own story out. [laughs] I don't date boys, I don't like boys. [laughs] It's true -- I think boys are yucky and that's it. There's nothing more to say." (DJ Drama)
Prior to their denials, reps for both artists said the marriage did not go down.
Reps for both Drake and Nicki Minaj tell E! News that the rappers did not tie the knot, though both tweeted that they did earlier today. While Drake said in his tune "Miss Me" that he fancied marrying the Trinidadian newcomer, the duo decided to team up instead for what appears to be a publicity stunt. (And we bet plenty of people have been looking up that song today.) (E! Online)
