Young Money's Nicki Minaj has finally sealed the deal and announced a new partnership with a wine company called Myx Fusions which has her set up as part owner and face of the brand.
Details of the new partnership bubbled online Wednesday (June 5) afternoon.
Myx Fusions, the fruit-infused, single serve moscato wine beverage, announces a partnership with Nicki Minaj today. The pop superstar is not only a part owner of the brand but will also be the face of the new distinctively bottled, ready to drink moscato as it expands in the U.S. market and abroad. Myx Fusions will launch a fully integrated marketing campaign that will include print, radio and television as well as exclusive events and social media messaging. (Wall Street Journal)
Both Minaj and the company's CEO have released statements on the new business relationship.
"I am so excited to team with the Myx brand," says Minaj. "I have no doubt that it will be number one. It's a great-tasting, amazing product that people will love. It's not even a hard sell. Myx Fusions gives us an opportunity to revolutionize the wine industry." "Myx is a great new innovation in a category that is exploding," says Peter Reaske, Myx Fusions CEO. "Moscato has done wonders for wine consumption and Myx Fusions will do the same for moscato. Myx appeals to a broad base of wine-drinking and non-wine drinking consumers. We believe that Nicki Minaj's partnership combined with the appeal of the Myx product will have a ground-breaking impact on the wine industry." (Statement)
The rapper hinted at a beverage venture possibly being close to done last April.
"I don't think I can. I really would love to," Minaj said of not being able to tour. "But I don't think I'll have the time, because I'm also going to be launching a few products this year that I'm really going to have to lend myself to the clothing line, I have a drink that's about to come out and these new speakers that you guys are going to see a commercial for this week or next week. So I have a lot of things that the business side of me has to work on, and I also want to be here so I can write. I obviously am going to start working on the third album very, very soon. I'm getting beats as we speak. I just haven't started writing, but that's my biggest priority at this point." (MTV)
Earlier this year, Minaj made another business move with the launch of her own Beats By Dre accessory.
Dr. Dre revolutionized the headphones industry when he launched Beats by Dr. Dre in 2008 and now the rap impresario is set to do it again with his Beats By Dr. Dre Pill Speaker. Lending a hand (or an ear, as the case were) is Nicki Minaj, who fronts a special Pretty in Pink edition of the portable Bluetooth speaker and ETonline is proud to bring you the exclusive first look at over 2 minutes of behind the scenes footage from her commercial!
