Maybach Music Group's Meek Mill paid homage to his slain artist Lil Snupe following his tragic murder earlier in the week during a J. Cole concert heading into the weekend.
New footage of Meek remembering the teenage rapper has started to circulate online.
J. Cole surprised NYC with Drake on Wednesday. During his "Dollar & A Dream" tour stop in Philadelphia on Friday night, Cole brought out Philly's own Meek Mill, who performed his new single "Levels" as Cole provided ad-libs. Meek shouted out the Roc Nation MC and declared his album Born Sinner "the hottest album out of the year." He also paid tribute to his 18-year-old protégé Lil Snupe, who was shot and killed earlier this week. "I want to take one second to give a fu**ing rest in peace shout-out to my dawg, Lil Snupe," said Meek. "My young ni**a lost his life early in the game and I want to send a blessing to him and his whole motherfu**in' family." He asked the crowd to "turn up" for Snupe before continuing with "Dreams and Nightmares Intro." (Rap-Up)
Meek also paid homage to the young rapper's memory and suggested street activity likely contributed to his death a few days ago.
"R.I.P 2 my lil f*cking n*gga #lilsnupe I tried everything in my power 2 get that kid out of the streets!," Meek tweeted June 20th.
"The streets killed my Lil n*gga Snupe...I always told him don't try 2 keep it real wit the streets.... Bcuz they won't keep it real wit you"
"Some people go 2 college...Some people go 2 jail...Some make it into heaven some make it into hell...nobody wanna lose nobody wanna fail..." (Meek Mill's Twitter)
According to reports, multiple warrants for a Louisiana resident connected to Snupe's death have been issued.
According to a statement released to MTV News by Louisiana's Winnfield City Police Department on Friday (June 21), warrants have been issued for the arrest of 36-year old Winnfield resident Tony Holden. The convicted felon stands 5'8" and weighs approximately 215 pounds, according to police records, and has black hair and brown eyes. Police officials are asking that anyone with knowledge of Holden's whereabouts to contact the Winnfield Police Department immediately at 318-628-3511. (MTV)
Early reports claimed Snupe suffered two bullet wounds to his chest.
Police in north Louisiana are investigating the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old rapper known as Lil Snupe. The Winnfield Police Department says the entertainer, whose real name was Addarren Ross, died Thursday morning after he was shot twice in the chest at an apartment building in the city. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Ross, who lived in Jonesboro, La., recently signed a recording deal with Meek Mill's Dream Chasers label. Police say they are searching for an unidentified "person of interest" but have not established a motive for the shooting. (ABC News Go)
