Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy has reportedly struck a significant deal with mega television network provider Time Warner Cable to bring his Revolt TV to channels across the United States this year.
According to reports, a new partnership became finalized this week and has the network set to go live for TWC customers over the next few months.
Together with previously announced distribution, this will make Revolt one of the largest launches in cable TV history when it goes live this fall. Revolt TV will be available to Time Warner Cable customers when it launches in the fall. This broad reach is especially significant for Revolt TV in gaining early traction in major urban markets across the United States. Envisioned as a maverick television channel with an emphasis on music programming, live content and a robust social media component, Revolt TV is scheduled to launch in Fall 2013. (Revolt TV News)
Diddy has confirmed the huge news and explained what it means for Revolt TV.
"This is a landmark distribution deal that demonstrates Time Warner Cable's commitment to bringing a platform for music artists and fans to their subscribers," stated Revolt TV Founder and Chairman Sean Combs. "It positions Revolt to come out of the gate strong, and we look forward to igniting the passion of initial audiences across the U.S." With Time Warner Cable's help nothing is stopping Revolt from becoming the new number one name in music. Last year, Puffy talked about the network going to have a fearless approach to what airs.
"I started my own new network. It's called Revolt and it will be the number one name in music," Diddy said in an interview. "We will play what the others are afraid to play. We're bringing the soul back to music. So everybody check that." ("The Today Show")
Diddy officially announced his television takeover last year.
"The revolution will be televised. Today is a very, very big day. I am here to announce my new cable network, Revolt. I'd first like to say thank-you to Comcast, the Comcast Diversity Council and NBC for recognizing the importance of minority ownership in cable television," Diddy said in a video. "When I was growing up, I used to watch television all the time and wonder, 'Why don't those people look like me?' ... So thank-you to Comcast, my hat goes off to you for being the first to step up and I would also like to encourage and invite Time Warner, DirectTV, Cable Vision and all the other distributors to come and get down with the get down because Revolt TV is bringing that revolution that television needs."
