Troubled Hollywood star Amanda Bynes appears to really be serious about launching a hip-hop career as reports claim she is in talks with mega producer/rapper Wyclef Jean.
According to reports, a meeting between Bynes and Clef was scheduled to take place Monday (June 17) night.
Amanda Bynes is meeting up tonight with Wyclef Jean to discuss a possible album collaboration, Chinga Chang Records CEO Dan Herman--who will also be in attendance--exclusively tells E! News. "I think it would be perfect," says Herman. "Linking the two of them will be something major." Wyclef has been very "receptive" to the idea of meeting with Bynes to brainstorm ideas, Hermon says, noting that he's confident such a pairing would be "great." "This album is going to shock the world," he adds. "She has such a great voice. Singers wish they could hit the notes that Amanda does." (E! Online)
If things go her way, Bynes will up the ante by hitting the road for a tour.
For this project, Bynes would write her own songs and there would be no lip-syncing, Herman says. He also tells us that the 27-year-old starlet really wants to tour and that their respective lawyers are in the final stages of working out an official deal for her to sign with the label that could be finalized this week. She has also promoted her new passion on Twitter with tweets about transitioning from actress to recording artist.
"I'm so looking forward to recording my album and going on tour! I can't wait to see you all at my concerts!," Bynes tweeted June 12th. (Amanda Bynes' Twitter)
Amanda reportedly had a record deal presented to her earlier this month.
Amanda Bynes could be hip-hop's next big thing. Chinga Chang Records, a small New York-based music group, reportedly sees a rap star in the 27-year-old and has extended an offer for a record deal to drop her first album. "She's phenomenal, and that's the crazy thing about this," producer and label CEO Daniel Herman told the Huffington Post on Tuesday. "This is the perfect home. This isn't just a gimmick."
