Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne discussed his frequent battle with seizures this week and how accustomed he is to waking up in hospitals.
Aside from headaches, Wayne said he often does not realize when a potential seizure is going to hit him.
"No warning, no nothing I don't feel sick. I get headaches real bad. And the headaches? I didn't get no headaches or nothing," Lil Wayne told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway when he appeared on a special episode of "RapFix Live" on Wednesday (May 8). (MTV)
He also showed off a more personal side, admitting the seizures have him begging from them to stop.
Wayne says he has no recollection of the attacks and if it wasn't for his family, friends and doctors, he wouldn't even know the details of his frightful episodes. "I told them the other day, 'Y'all can tell me right now that y'all was lying', like 'You know what? We lyin' ain't nothin,' and I'd have to believe them because I don't know," he said. "I go to sleep and wake up in the hospital. I don't feel anything. I'm 100, I just hope it stops happening." (MTV)
After experiencing multiple seizures in March, Wayne suffered another one last week.
Lil Wayne was hospitalized again for a seizure ... TMZ has learned. Sources close to Wayne tell us ... the rapper was taken to Cedars-Sinai in L.A. late Tuesday night by his bodyguards. We're told he suffered a single seizure and was treated and released early this morning. As we first reported, 30-year-old Lil Wayne spent a week at Cedars back in March after suffering multiple severe seizures that nearly killed him. He spent 6 days in ICU. Wayne subsequently went on the radio and explained he's an epileptic, and has been suffering from seizures since he was a kid. (TMZ)
He addressed his battle with medical complications a few weeks ago.
"The thing is, man, the bad news is, I'm an epileptic, so I'm prone to seizures," he said. "This isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures; y'all just never hear about it. This time it got real bad because I had three of 'em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could've died soon. That's why it was so serious. The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That's typical me, though." (Power 106)
