There should be little to no doubt rap star Kanye West will show off his acting chops in the upcoming Anchorman: The Legend Continues flick as new on-set photos have surfaced.
Along with Yeezy, the new production shots include Hollywood stars Jim Carrey, Steve Carell and more.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues is back in Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta, GA today and the cameos will continue, too (rumor has it Vince Vaughn is on set today). According to permits, filming will continue near Park Peachtree St between Marietta St and Auburn Ave (along Woodruff Park) through Monday. Below are a few more pictures from Wednesday's shoot, including new photos of Kanye West, Paul Rudd, John C. Reilly, Steve Carell, and Jim Carrey thanks to @Live1DNews. (On Location Vacations)
Earlier this week, reports claimed Yeezy and current girlfriend Kim Kardashian were spotted around the movie set.
Kanye West has joined the "Anchorman 2" movie filming in downtown Atlanta. His expectant boo Kim Kardashian joined him for a time but was on a flight from Alanta back to Los Angeles Wednesday morning, according to our serendipitously placed sources. We don't know that she was ever actually on the Woodruff Park set - probably for security/privacy reasons - but they were spotted downtown together Tuesday. She was wearing a chic white trench coat when she flew out this morning, according to a high-flying source who happened to be on the same flight. (Access Atlanta)
An eyewitness also came forward with some details about Yeezy's on-set habits.
Hollywood.com reports that West was spotted in downtown Atalanta filming a scene with Christina Applegate and Paul Rudd, both of whom are returning from the original "Anchorman." The witness, who saw the trio filming on a rooftop, reportedly says West was "quite afraid of heights and required an umbrella for shade most of the time he was on the roof." (Huffington Post)
Additional reports claimed Ye could be involved in a fight scene.
The studio had no comment on the latest casting coup, but we hear that Kanye was part of a big fight scene (you know those local-newsmen rumbles that Ron Burgundy is always getting into) shot in Woodruff Park. (E! Online)
No stranger to Farrell or even his on-screen character, Mr. West has paid homage to the Hollywood star on numerous occasions.
West is a longtime Will Ferrell fan, having included dialogue from Blades of Glory in his song "N***s in Paris" (with Jay-Z). Following his Taylor Swift/MTV VMA controversy, he even compared himself to Ferrell's Ron Burgundy in a Twitter rant. (Hollywood)
Anchorman: The Legend Continues is expected to premiere in December.
