News: Jermaine Dupri, 9th Wonder & More React To Andre 3000's Loss

Atlanta producer Jermaine Dupri, 9th Wonder, Janelle Monae and more all publicly reached out to send positive thoughts to OutKast's Andre 3000 in light of losing his mother yesterday (May 28).
JD shared a few thoughts on Three Stacks losing his mother on his birthday.

Much like Dupri, fellow producer 9th Wonder sent his best wishes to Andre's family.

Midwest singer Janelle Monae briefly addressed the shocking passing.

Atlanta rapper Big Gipp immediately sent his condolences out after the news went public.

An Atlanta pastor named Jamil V. Willis also spoke on the unexpected passing.
"I just received a very disturbing phone call that Lady Sharon Benjamin Hodo passed away moments ago in her sleep.," he tweeted Tuesday.

Confirmation on the platinum-selling rapper's loss surfaced online late Tuesday night.
Andre "3000" Benjamin's mother Sharon Benjamin-Hodo has passed away, a representative for the musician and actor confirms to Billboard. Benjamin-Hodo was the founder and guiding force of The Starlight Camp for underprivileged children, which she ran out of the New Morning Light Missionary Baptist Church in Conley, GA -- the church of her husband, Pastor Robert Hodo. In lieu of flowers, continued support of The Starlight Camp is appreciated by the family, Benjamin's spokesperson notes. (Billboard)
