Rap mogul Jay-Z sticks up for his pal Kanye West on the new, full-length release of "100$ Bill" record by taking aim at country singer Taylor Swift.
On the record, Young Hov references Yeezy's now-infamous MTV Video Music Awards 2009 Swift incident.
Taylor Swift isn't the only one who uses her songs to get revenge! In a new song from The Great Gatsby soundtrack, Jay-Z calls the 23-year-old singer out! In the song, Jay-Z implies that people tell celebrities to behave, but they don't have to because of the amount of money they have. He raps, "That cheese made us constipated couldn't tell us s**t. Then, Jay-Z takes a major stab at Taylor! He says, "Took that, Taylor Swift to a hundred f**king million, b***h," referring to the incident where Kanye West stole the microphone from Taylor at the 2009 MTV Music Awards. Jay-Z is saying Kanye became famous for dissing Taylor, and now Kanye is worth $100 million, according to Forbes. (Hollywood Life)
Jigga also uses the new track to make references to a variety of wide range topics.
On the track, which found its way onto the Internet Thursday (April 2), Hovi compares the ascent of his empire to Jay Gatsby's storied hustle, but with a dash of hip-hop modernism. In just a few short bars there are references to literary greats, rap icons, Houston hip-hop culture and Jay's chain of 40/40 sports bars. "I write like Mark Twain, Jay Gatsby I park thangs/ Yellow cars, yellow gold, like Slick Rick, still tip/ On four-fours, fo-fos at the four-O, four-O" he rhymes effortlessly. (MTV)
Jay recently talked about what fans could expect from the new Great Gatsby soundtrack.
"It's not a typical soundtrack, it's just a stand alone piece. Songs are pretty much in the film, it goes hand-in-hand with each other. It had to fit pretty snug, it wasn't an after thought, It just really goes to the thing that I've always said that music is music no matter what, timeless music is timeless music and it doesn't matter which genre. So we did a lot of jumping over those lines that people put there." (Direct Lyrics)
