The family of late hip-hop pioneer Heavy D has come forward to address reports which suggest his brother is trying to take full control of the real estate.

While Heavy's fam did confirm the buzz, they also said the rap icon's daughter would actually receive the monetary assets.

Heavy's mom Eulahlee Myers tells TMZ ... the entire family SUPPORTS Floyd ... because they believe he will protect Heavy's fortune for his daughter -- until she's an adult. "Heavy's Estate needs to be managed," Myers tells us ... adding, "It cannot be self-managed or self-administered and it has to be Court approved. Open bills, unfinished business, taxes and day-to-day decisions including future plans for his daughter all need to be done. This management needs someone who is capable, smart, honest and close to this family." (TMZ)

According to the rapper's mother, everything from Social Security to music royalties will go to his teenage daughter.

"The family all wanted Floyd as that person to represent Dwight's estate." Myers explains, "All of Heavy's assets are going to his 13-year-old Daughter Xea -- including his Social Security, Pension, and future Royalties. All of Heavy's personal belongings are in storage for his Daughter until she gets a bit older." She adds, "The Myers family is a close-knit family and always will be. Just the way Heavy liked it." Back in January 2012, Terror Squad leader Fat Joe reflected on Heavy D's unexpected passing.

"It was a sad occasion when Heavy D passed. He's somebody I look up to. He was a mentor, somebody who really inspired me growing up," Joe said in an interview. "Being a big person Heavy D was doing it so big I've always admired him so it was a sad note -- I had confidence. I felt like I was looking at TV and I seen a guy Heavy D and I'm Fat Joe from The Bronx. And I was dancing like him and it made me feel confident about myself. And I felt like fat guys could do it." In late December 2011, details on what caused Heavy to lose his life hit the 'net.

An autopsy performed on rapper Heavy D, who collapsed and died suddenly on Nov. 8, found that the cause of death was a pulmonary embolism, according to the report released Tuesday. The coroner's office found that Dwight Arrington Myers, better known as Heavy D, died of a blood clot in his lung. He also suffered from deep leg vein thrombosis and heart disease. The blood clot was "most likely formed during an extended airplane ride," said Craig Harvey, chief of the Los Angeles County department of coroner. The rapper had recently returned from a trip to London. (Los Angeles Times)
