Underrated: "He Never Really Got His, All The Way, Just Due"

[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name who they feel is the most underrated emcee in hip-hop. After Rossy gave Fabolous and Jadakiss the title last week, former Bad Boy Records rapper Aasim crowns OC and Mos Def SOHH Underrated.]
I think OC is underrated. I think OC never really got [his props.] He has "Time's Up" but that was it. He never really got his, all the way, just due.
Even one of his lines is, "I'd rather be broke and have a whole lot of respect." It's like, you know, he's nice lyrically. I haven't heard anything recently but he used to be one of my all-time favorites. He's always moved around quietly and not really been in the mainstream.
If you talk to a lot of people and tell them O.C., they'll be like, "Who?" It wouldn't even register. I would have to pick him. I would also say, lyrically, a lot of people [don't give enough respect] to Mos Def. I think Mos Def is super ill.
I think them two would be my two.
Now the time for waiting is over, AASIM is back with a renewed hunger and energy that is easily translated in his music. Focused on bringing back the Boom-Bap sound, AASIM's forthcoming mix-tape "Walking On The Stars" (which drops Mid May) 1st single "Queens Shit" Feat Nas does exactly that. Brings that classic Boom-Bap sound back to hip-hop. Something that has been missing for quite sometime! AASIM & Nas trade bars over a classic Boom-Bap track taking you back to an era when it wasn't about catchy hooks, but about lyrics and neck braking beats. If you are truly a fan of Hip-Hop then you'll truly enjoy this gem.
