G-Unit's Lloyd Banks may not be ready to share the microphone with 50 Cent and Tony Yayo just yet but he has kept busy by dropping a new track called "Picture This."
Although known for his street raps, "Blue Hefner" targets the ladies with this unexpected gem.
One of my knocks against Lloyd Banks was that he stuck to the monotone delivery and never switched it up. Well, "Picture This" might be a breakthrough of sorts. The track's a little lovey-dovey, sort of like Lloyd Banks getting his LL on, but at least he switches his voice up a bit and matches the bouncy production by Hero Beats. The light at the end of the tunnel may finally become clearly when Failure's No Option drops. (Smoking Section)
G-Unit's DJ Whoo Kid recently talked about not knowing Banks' whereabouts.
"Tony Yayo is still there [on the road], but Banks, I don't know where Banks is," Whoo Kid revealed in an interview with DJ Drama. "Wait another year [for that joint mixtape], and Banks will come out. Banks has a new deal with, I think, New Era." (Shade 45)
Back in January, G-Unit general 50 Cent and Tony Yayo were spotted performing together in Puerto Rico.
50 Cent and his G-Unit compadres return today with something new for our viewing pleasures. The fellas recently took a trip down to Puerto Rico for an impromptu, surprise performance in the island nation. Before the fellas hit the stage they allow us to ride shotgun as they ride around the island checking out hot spots, females, and more. Before you know it, 50, Yayo, and the rest of the Unit hit the stage to give the PR fans exactly what they wanted, a dope show packed full of many of their hits. (Stupid Dope)
Over the fall, Whoo Kid talked about trying to reunite 50 and Banks.
"I mean I don't even know man, I tried to like talk to them. Fif says he hasn't heard from him, I don't know man. They're supposed to be cool, I don't think there are any major problems. From what I know, they're cool. They were all at Chris Lighty's funeral. You will hear it from him (50). He will give you the view points on Banks and the whole situation with the Unit. But from what I know, they're cool. But 50 will let you know and explains the situation better." (HHNM)
