West Coast rap veteran Snoop Dogg reportedly had his annual "Smoke Out Day" festivities come to a premature close courtesy of some angry neighbors this weekend.

According to reports, the rapper's Hollywood party closed before noon on Saturday (April 20) at the hands of police.

Snoop Dogg's 4/20 party in Hollywood was shut down before the star of the show even arrived ... TMZ has learned. "Snoop Lion 420 Festival" -- a giant party being held in a Hollywood Hills mansion to celebrate all things cannabis -- started at 11:00 AM ... but quickly crashed and burned thanks to a bunch of fuddy-duddy neighbors. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... multiple neighbors in the surrounding area complained about the noise levels and parking situation caused by hoards of weed-loving partygoers. The fact that the party didn't have a permit didn't help matters either. Cops arrived and quickly shut it down, putting a kibosh on the all-night festivities. Our sources say no one was cited. (TMZ)

The latest update suggests Snoop did not explode over the situation and cooperated with local authorites.

We're told Snoop arrived to the party just as it was being shut down. Our sources say Snoop spoke to police and was incredibly cooperative and understood why the party was being shut down. (TMZ)

No stranger to marijuana talk, the Dogg Father recently talked about wanting to give his kids lessons on the herbal drug.

In Snoop's Narnia, it's perfectly acceptable to look forward to teaching your kids how to pick seeds out of your stash or how to roll a blunt. "It's not that I would ever push weed on our kids," says Snoop, who has three children, ranging in age from 12 to 18, "but if they wanted to, I would love to show them how, the right way, so that way they won't get nothing put in their sh*t or overdose or trying some sh*t that ain't clean." (GQ)

He previously discussed a disinterest in forcing his kids to steer clear of weed.

"My kids can do whatever the h*ll they want. For me to say otherwise would be hypocritical. A lot of motherf*ckers don't have a relationship with their kids, and that's when they get on drugs and have suicidal thoughts and drive drunk. Me and my son is mellow. I'm his father, so I wanna show him the proper way because he looks up to me. What better way to get it than from the master?" (The Hollywood Reporter)
