Young Money star Nicki Minaj is going to need more hours added into the workday after announcing handfuls of new business ventures including a beverage currently in the works.
Along with the drink, Minaj confirmed buzz about her new Beats By Dre speakers and a third solo album being underway.
"I don't think I can. I really would love to," Minaj said of not being able to tour. "But I don't think I'll have the time, because I'm also going to be launching a few products this year that I'm really going to have to lend myself to the clothing line, I have a drink that's about to come out and these new speakers that you guys are going to see a commercial for this week or next week. So I have a lot of things that the business side of me has to work on, and I also want to be here so I can write. I obviously am going to start working on the third album very, very soon. I'm getting beats as we speak. I just haven't started writing, but that's my biggest priority at this point." (MTV)
The platinum-selling rapper's new speakers were officially unveiled yesterday (April 4).
Dr. Dre revolutionized the headphones industry when he launched Beats by Dr. Dre in 2008 and now the rap impresario is set to do it again with his Beats By Dr. Dre Pill Speaker. Lending a hand (or an ear, as the case were) is Nicki Minaj, who fronts a special Pretty in Pink edition of the portable Bluetooth speaker and ETonline is proud to bring you the exclusive first look at over 2 minutes of behind the scenes footage from her commercial! The self-proclaimed Barbie also spoke on the new business opportunity in a statement.
"I am so excited about this product. It's something I actually use. It's a little tiny speaker that I can travel with yet the sound is incredibly loud and rich," Nicki Minaj said in a statement. "I knew the Barbz would not only love it, but that they'd want it in pink! So, here ya go barbz!!!! My PINK PILL!" (Statement)
As if that wasn't enough, Minaj hinted at plans to put her foot down on Hollywood's throat earlier this week.
"I may be working on something right now. I can't really say too much about it, but I definitely have the acting bug," Nicki told MTV News correspondent Christina Garibaldi from a Burbank, California, recording studio, right after the premiere of her "High School" music video. "That was my first love, so you just never know." (MTV)
