With Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West confirmed to appear on "Saturday Night Live" next month, new reports claim the show's writers are taking precautions not to offend the father-to-be.

According to reports, the writers want to take playful shots at Kanye's pregnant girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.

NBC wants to parody Kim Kardashian during the season finale of Saturday Night Live and that has musical guest Kanye West worried that his baby mama will be raked over the coals, has learned exclusively. "Kanye as musical guest is a great get for SNL, but of course the writers want to push the envelope and take advantage of it with a Kim Kardashian skit," an insider at NBC told Radar. "That's not unusual since her famous family has been spoofed before with some very hilarious and spot-on impersonations of a whining Kim. They have to tread lightly because Kanye hasn't been happy with all the flack Kim's been getting about her pregnancy weight gain. (RadarOnline)

Due to Ye's high-profile status, it is unlikely writers will go too far with any possible spoofs.

"It's definitely going to be a challenge - the writers don't want to piss off Kanye so they're prepared not to cross the line, but they will go as far as they can." According to the source, the producers are desperate to spoof the famous and pregnant reality star, but they're being careful not to cause any "creative differences" with Kanye. "The writers are pushing real hard for an over-the-top skit and the producers are there to reel them right back in if they go too far. Normally the writers have free reign and just go for it, but there has to be some boundaries when your musical guest is Kanye and he's super sensitive about the constant Kim bashing," adds the source. After mounted speculation, Kanye's appearance on the NBC show was confirmed heading into the weekend.

Set your DVRs. Kanye West is closing out "Saturday Night Live" with a bang. The hip-hop icon has been booked as the musical guest for the season finale. "SNL" confirmed the rumors by announcing that Yeezy will perform on the May 18 episode with host Ben Affleck. This marks his fifth time performing on the show. It's unknown what he will perform, but he has been in the studio in Paris working on new material. He was at his label Def Jam earlier this week to play some of his latest work. (Rap-Up)

Earlier this month, buzz heated up the Internet about Kanye returning from Paris to see his girlfriend and possibly take part in an upcoming airing of "Saturday Night Live."

Kanye West is due back in the States next month, Page Six has exclusively learned, but it's not necessarily to rush to the side of his very pregnant reality star girlfriend, Kim Kardashian. Sources tell us the rapper -- who's been working on a new album in France -- will appear as musical guest on "SNL" on May 18. West's been holed up in a palatial pad ever since Paris fashion week in February, leaving his baby mama alone to brave pregnancy and public scrutiny over her weight, maternity fashions and upcoming divorce trial with Kris Humphries. Sources tell us the rapper's even pondering a permanent move to Paris. An NBC rep would only say the show hasn't announced its lineup. (New York Post)
