Underrated: "He Constantly Says He's Underrated"

[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name who they feel is the most underrated emcee in hip-hop. After Tahiry gave Jadakiss the title earlier this week, New York-bred, Dallas-stationed's DJ Kayotik crowns Ace Hood SOHH Underrated.]
Honestly, it's one person right now that comes to mind for SOHH Underrated and his thing is he constantly says he's underrated and I've been a fan of his for quite some time, I've enjoyed his body of work, I definitely applaud his efforts and I'm one of his biggest supporters. I definitely got to give an OG salute to the homie Ace Hood.
He puts in a lot of work, he's a very conscience rapper, he delivers strong content day in and day out. From an industry standpoint, he's definitely underrated. He's had a couple of break out records but he's never gotten to that point. I think right now, the new "Bugatti" record he has out is going to help put him where he needs to be as an artist.
I've been rocking with Ace Hood for a minute, from his original joints when he was just signed to DJ Khaled and We the Best. For me, I listen to content. I grew up on the Prodigy's, I grew up on the Kool G Rap's, the Nas', so seeing fresh talent come out with substance to his music, that's my thing.
I close my eyes and listen, asking, "What is the artist really saying?" With a lot of his records, I can close my eyes and visualize what he's going through. I've just watched him progress. He and I are actually personal friends, he's actually going to jump on a mixtape I have coming up. Me being a fan, first and foremost, I paid a lot of homage to him [playing his music in the club].
He came out to my club to perform a few songs and I pulled out his whole body of work. He was looking at me like, "You got that record!?" I was like, "Yeah, I'm a fan first." As a true deejay, if you really rock with music and artists, you've got that full body of work. If you don't have it, you gotta go get it.
I'm never going to let someone come into one of my venues or where I'm doing a show at and not have the opportunity to pay them homage.
