Atlanta rapper Future's close friend and business associate OG Double D reportedly fell victim to fatal gunfire after being shot at in a Mercedes Maybach this week.
Details on the horrific attack surfaced online Friday (April 12) evening.
The victim in Thursday's deadly shooting on Interstate 20 was a music executive and rapper who went by the name OG Double D, the man's family has confirmed to FOX 5. Authorities say someone from a white SUV was shooting at the driver of a Maybach as they drove down I-20 in DeKalb County during the afternoon rush hour on Thursday. The driver was transported to the hospital and later died, according to Mekka Parish of the DeKalb County Police Department. (My Fox Atlanta)
Initial reports claim OG Double D was not immediately identified as the victim.
A spokeswoman for the DeKalb Medical Examiner's office told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution at 9 a.m. Friday investigators had not positively identified the victim. The incident happened in the area of I-20 westbound at Glenwood Avenue around 5:15 p.m. Witnesses told police that shots were fired from a white SUV, which fled the scene, DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said. An eyewitness to the crime has since come forward to explain what went down.
He was driving a Maybach -- a rare luxury car that sells for upward of $400,000. Now, police are working to figure out who he was and find the person witnesses saw fire at him from a white SUV. "It sounded like a bazooka," an unidentified witness said about the shooting. The witness described to Channel 2's Ashley Swann what he heard moments before the rare black Mercedes Maybach came to a stop along I-20 westbound at Glenwood Avenue Thursday afternoon. (WSBTV)
