A couple years after suffering his own seizures, Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross has shared his thoughts on frequent collaborator Lil Wayne's publicized hospitalization this month.
While Ricky Rozay did not speak too much on the topic, he did reveal having reached out to Cash Money Records CEO Birdman for an update.
"Yeah, [Lil Wayne], that's the homie, I had a few words with Birdman and it's all positive," he said on Wayne's status. Given his own battle with balancing work and life, Ross said it's about prioritizing. "It's just all about putting yourself first and we always reiterate that with each other: 'Get rest,'" he said. "Sometimes, your desire can overwhelm the things you know that are right for you." He also said that he has spoken to the Young Money leader directly. "We touched basis and I send my love and it's all good. The homie feeling much, much better.' (VIBE)
Fellow Southern rap star T.I. recently updated fans on Weezy's health status.
"I was with him last night," T.I. tells "omg! Insider's" Nina Parker. "He is doing fine. We were actually watching the game and he's hoping the Lakers go to the finals. Listen man, I'm all about doing what's right, and I don't have any personal beefs or conflicts with anyone. I'm just about doing what's right and when you put things out of such a graphic nature that are inaccurate, I think you then put children, mothers, families through unnecessary grief." (OMG Yahoo)
Days after being hospitalized, Weezy released a video statement to ease fans' concerns.
"5, 4, 3, 2, what's poppin' y'all? Tunechi's in this b*tch," Wayne said in a video directed by DJ Scoob Doo and dated March 20th. "I just want to say thank-you to all y'all for your prayers and your concerns and all that. I swear to God I felt that love when I was laid up in that motherf*cking hospital bed. But I want all y'all to know that I'm good, a n*gga more than good. Also, my bum a** album's still coming out March 26th, it's the 26th? March 26th. I Am Not A Human Being II -- I'm still going on tour, America's Most Wanted Tour, with some of my closest friends in the game, speaking of my closest friends in the game, I got my n*gga right here to elaborate on that subject." Back in 2011, Rick Ross came clean on experiencing multiple seizures.
"On the flight, I had a seizure and when I snapped out of it and they had told me what happened, I'm like, 'You bugging. Call the jet, we finna keep it moving.' ... I felt a little wore out but I felt like I could keep going and that's what it was," Ross told "106 & Park" hosts Terrence J and Rocsi. "I boarded a jet and I had another seizure and when I snapped out of that one, I woke up in front of a doctor and he asked me basically, 'When was the last time you slept eight hours?' And I said it had to have been at least five years. ... I would get two hours of sleep and keep moving -- me being the hustler. That has to stop. I was fortunate enough, the doctor ran a battery of tests on me from cancer, diabetes, HIV, et cetera, et cetera and I came back totally healthy." ("106 & Park")
