Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj is the latest high-profile entertainer to head out to Los Angeles and show hospitalized rap star Lil Wayne some love after he suffered a seizure.
Footage and details of her unexpected visit surfaced across the Internet Sunday (March 17).
Nicki Minaj spent her Saturday night visiting Lil Wayne at Cedars-Sinai hospital -- where he's recovering from several seizures he suffered earlier this week -- officially adding her name to the HUGE list of superstars checking in on the rap mogul. Our photog spotted Minaj (and her plethora of get-well balloons) arriving at the hospital around 8:00 PM. She was seen again, about an hour later, leaving. The two go way back, Nicki has been signed to Young Money (Wayne's label) since 2007. (TMZ)
Her appearance at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center follows visits by Cash Money's Birdman and Drake.
Some of hip hops biggest names are converging on Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to check in on Young Money's Lil Wayne, RumorFix is reporting. Drake and Birdman visited Wayne after he reportedly had multiple seizures. Birdman tweeted on Friday, "My son is feelin Good.will be home real soon.YMCMB" Weezy also got a visit from LA Clippers guard Chris Paul and his wife. Unconfirmed reports say the famous rapper went on a binge of Sizzurp and doctors had to pump his stomach three times to get the drugs out. (RumorFix)
Some distant Weezy affiliates like T.I. and Snoop Dogg publicly reached out to the rapper.
After the news broke on Friday, rappers T.I. and Snoop Dogg and even Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas all took to Twitter to send their love. Today, fellow New Orleans MC Jay Electronica joined in and was joyed that Wayne appears to be doing better than initially reported. "@LilTunechi glad you're well man. don't us like that again. God ain't finish w you yet. sincerely, another uptown n---a," he wrote. (MTV)
A Young Money publicist confirmed Weezy suffered a seizure heading into the weekend.
Sarah Cunningham, a publicist with the Young Money record label, acknowledged that Lil Wayne had a seizure. The public relations department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Los Angeles hospital where the rapper is reportedly being treated, did not confirm or deny that Lil Wayne is there, per its policy. The rapper's independent publicist, Kia Selby, said only, "Lil Wayne is doing well." She strongly denied reports he was in a medically induced coma, as reported by TMZ. (CNN)
