Rap mogul Jay-Z, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Kim Kardashian have reportedly fallen victim to hackers who have exposed their financial records to the public.
Details of the massive hacking and what other celebrities were victims surfaced online late Monday (March 11) night.
Twelve big celebs and political figures, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, are the victims of a hacker who has posted detailed information about what appears to be their finances ... and we've learned law enforcement is on the case. A website -- we're not disclosing the name -- has posted social security numbers, mortgage amounts, credit card info, car loans, banking and other info of major celebs. In addition to Beyonce and Jay-Z ... the site has snagged financial dossiers of Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Ashton Kutcher, Joe Biden, Robert Mueller, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck. The Los Angeles Police Department has already launched an investigation while new celebrities continue to become targeted.
The site was not able to get a lot on Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton, but most of the others on the list have had their financial info compromised. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the LAPD has already launched an investigation. We're told the FBI is looking into it. UPDATE: 5:28 PM PDT: The list has just gotten longer. We've learned Britney Spears and Donald Trump have also been hacked. (TMZ)
Last summer, Jay and Bey topped financial publication Forbes' "World's Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples" list.
Last year's runners-up on the list of The World's Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples, the duo has now climbed one spot to top this year's ranking. The singer's new album went platinum in the U.S., not to mention her non-musical ventures and endorsement deals, which all helped to bring her total earnings between May 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012 to $40 million, according to data from the latest Celebrity 100 list. The hip-hop mogul made millions from Watch the Throne, his musical collaboration with pal Kanye West, and even more from the tour that followed. Add to that a bevy of non-musical enterprises such as ad firm Translation and cosmetics company Carol's Daughter and the result is a staggering $38 million that he has brought home in twelve months, putting the couple's annual income at $78 million. Jay also previously ranked in the top three of Celebrity Net Worth's "20 Richest Rappers Alive Today" list.
