[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name who they feel is the most underrated emcee in hip-hop. After Styles P gave Chill Rob G the title last week, MTV's "Washington Heights" star Audubon crowns Immortal Technique SOHH Underrated.]

Somebody who has inspired me who has always been underrated, I would have to say, d*mn, that's hard, probably Immortal Technique.

What he chooses to speak about is taboo. Pretty much every subject is stuff [the industry] doesn't want you speaking on but it's stuff that's real. It's stuff that's really going on, it's stuff that's really affecting our communities and our nation. He just chooses to speak on it and doesn't care that it's a cool-sounding song.

He just wants to get the message out and I feel that's mad powerful. For him to just want to speak on it and not worry about your song being on the radio [is big] and he still does fine. He does shows, travels all over the world and he's been doing that for 15, 20 years and nobody really knows.

That's cool with me. He's behind the scenes and even though he doesn't have all the respect that he should have, to me, that's inspiring.

I got put on to him about five or ten years ago. I was younger and listening to his songs like "Dacning with the Devil" and I was just like, "D*mn," the way he words things and how he writes to the beat, I was like, "D*mn, that's dope."

I would say him for SOHH Underrated.
