[As Valentine's Day approaches SOHH's highlighting artists so in love with the man in the mirror they decided to speak on why they feel they are unappreciated. After Erick Sermon gave himself the title earlier this week, 8Ball crowns himself and MJG SOHH Underrated.]
The most underrated? I don't know. There's a lot of them. To name who is the most underrated in this business? Man, I don't know.
For real. I would have to say myself right now. I would have to say me and MJG are one of the most underrated rap groups of all. Even though the world doesn't love us unanimously the same, people can see our work.
The people who really love us, they have to love us for some reason. That's why I have to say me and MJG are one of the most underrated hip-hop groups of all time.
I say that mostly because our fans really f*ck with us and we've been in the game for so many years and are still here.
One of the pioneers of Southern rap, Eightball & MJG, emerged from Memphis, Tennessee in the early '90s and, aligned with the Houston, Texas-based independent label Suave Records, quickly garnering a tremendous regional following while proving highly influential to a generation of aspiring, independent-minded rap artists and entrepreneurs.
