Miami's Trick Daddy has stepped up to speak out against recent comments shot at his hometown by Lil Wayne and revealed plans to hook up with fellow hip-hop artist Uncle Luke to stop outsiders from bashing South Beach.
Trick said Miami newcomers should have to check in through him and Luke before kicking their feet up and calling their neck of the woods home.
"I don't care who be offended by what I say. I rep my city and want nobody disrespecting. When their lease is up, they can leave. We've got to stick together as radio, as artists, as deejays and fans who love the music as a whole. And that's what makes a community. Me and Luke been talking, we've been getting together, we're going to find out some type of way to get this thing back on the road -- I can't go nowhere else, this is my home. So from now on, when they get here, they're going to have to start checking in. They're going to check in by turning to 99 Jamz and listening to us, what we've got to say. They're taking all of our beats and rapping over them anyway." (99 Jamz)
Earlier in the week, Uncle Luke publicly blasted Wayne for taking shots toward Miami.
"He has no respect for the city because people in Miami's entertainment industry -- from local radio DJs to South Beach nightclub promoters to the Heat's front office -- spread their legs for him and every out-of-town celebrity who rolls through town. Lil Wayne treats Miami like his b*tch because people let him. When Weezy claimed he was thrown out of the Heat home game versus the Lakers, the franchise tried to downplay the incident, saying they only asked him to leave and he left on his own. That was a b*tch move." (Miami New Times)
Following last weekend's dicey NBA All-Star Weekend comments, Weezy F. Baby clarified who he has issues with.
"Yeah, I heard about that, that's what I want to clear up," Wayne said in an interview when told the entire city of Miami was upset with him. "First of all, I ain't have a cup. I can't drink anything. Actually, I had a little bit too much to 'think' that night. Yeah, [laughs], I had too many thoughts on my mind that night but let me start off saying I don't apologize for that night. I don't apologize for being who I am. That's who I am. This is who I am and yes I did say those things. The only thing I do want to take back from saying that night is I said, 'F LeBron,' I didn't mean to say that because me and LeBron are cool and I know his mom and we have a real good relationship. That's my homie, it just slipped out. Other than that, I don't take nothing back and like I said, I don't apologize for being me. This is who I am. Now do you want an explanation for where all that came from?" (99 Jamz)
During his rant, Wayne attacked the entire National Basketball Association (NBA) and Miami Heat over allegedly beign banned from events.
"Y'all love these n*ggas so I'm gonna let y'all know why [I don't like the Heat]. The Miami Heat told [the arenas] to ban me. So I say f*ck, I'm still going to come out here and party -- when I say 'F*ck,' y'all say 'NBA'. F*ck! When I say 'F*ck,' y'all say the Miami Heat. F*ck! ... I ain't 2Pac, I'm the new Pac. Holla at cha boy." (YouTube)
