Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross is not letting a near-death experience sideline him for good as new reports claim the "Boss" is back to music-making.
G.O.O.D. Music's Pusha T spilled the beans on Ross' return to studio-grinding and said he is strictly focused on business.
"I just spoke to Ross today actually. He just texted me today. He's about to send me a record, but that was all we talked about," the G.O.O.D. Music MC told MTV News on Thursday night. "I know it's gonna be heat, and if he asked me for it right now, he'd probably want something demon, and I'm gonna give him that demon on that verse. It's probably for his [album], I'm sure it's for his or whatever project he got goin' on." (MTV)
Ricky Rozay first showed signs of life by briefly returning to Twitter this week.
Rick Ross has re-emerged on Twitter after what appears to be an attempt to murder the hip-hop star in Florida earlier this week, but the heavyset rapper did not directly address his brush with death early Monday morning. Rick Ross had been mostly silent on the microblogging service save for a re-tweet yesterday, but the rapper was back today, sending two tweets about upcoming releases -- and pointedly ignoring the static from fellow rapper 50 Cent, who has been mercilessly mocking Ross since the shooting. (As you may recall, 50 Cent himself is a survivor of multiple gunshots, so we imagine shots that don't even hit the car, much less Ross himself, seem far less scary.) (Inquisitr)
Some reports claim he hired 24-hour security following Monday's shooting.
After narrowly escaping bullets from a drive-by shooting in Ft. Lauderdale, the rapper has hired armed personal bodyguards to protect him 24/7! Rick Ross was the target of a drive-by shooting outside Miami on Jan. 28, and he ended up crashing his Rolls-Royce to escape the gunfire. Even though the shooter has not been identified, the rapper had been threatened by a street ganga called Gangsta Disciples for weeks before the dangerous attack. As a hip-hop artist, Rick had armed security for big events such as concerts and public appearances, but in the wake of the drive-by shooting, he has decided to have armed bodyguards 24/7. Maybach Music Group's Gunplay updated fans on the Boss' condition a couple days ago.
"He good, he good. Rozay is good, man," Gunplay said in an interview. "He's unf*ckwitable, man. It's the untouchable Maybach, man. You don't understand. It's for real, for real, though." Reports indicated that Ross had hired 24-hour security to protect him following in the incident, but Gunplay says he's heard nothing of the sort. "Nah, I don't know about details like that. I know my dog good, though." (HHDX)
