News: A$AP Rocky Responds To Tyler, The Creator's "F**kin'" Problem
Monday, Feb 4, 2013 4:00PM
New York rapper A$AP Rocky has finally addressed backlash fired his way courtesy of Odd Future's Tyler, the Creator over his "F*ckin' Problems" hit record.
Rather than go at Tyler's neck, Rocky downplayed the Odd Future head's critique.
When the single "Fuckin' Problems" was released, Tyler, The Creator took to Twitter and said "So funny when someone releases a new song with the same four people that we expected to be on it with the same sh*tty "Trap" beat Hahaha." What did you think of that? He has his opinions and he's entitled to them, so it's whatever. H*ll no, I'm not tripping over what Tyler, The Creator said. I'm Jiggy. (Life + Times)
Back in October, Tyler appeared to fire a subliminal shot toward A$AP's hit record.
"So Funny When Someone Releases A new Song With The Same 4 People That We Expected To Be On It With The Same Shitty 'Trap' Beat Hahaha.," Tyler tweeted October 18th, 2012. (Tyler, the Creator's Twitter)
Around mid-January, the New York native spoke on pulling high-profile guest features for "F*ckin' Problems."
"Well, 2 Chainz was for sure going to do the hook. It was all about chemistry, because you know, even though Drake is a big pop artist, he can spit his a** off, Kendrick Lamar is a f*cking spitter. We all just wanted to make a party track and have fun. And that's a true story - I f*cked a lot of b*tches. I got a f*cking problem." (Rolling Stone)
Tensions between Tyler and the A$AP camp reportedly date back to fall 2011.
In the past, Odd Future has made a couple of questionable comments that could easily be interpreted as shots at ASAP Rocky. In a recent interview, ASAP said he was a fan of Odd Future and that there are no negative feelings on his end. We're not trying to start any drama, but it seems a little suspicious that within a couple of hours of Danny Brown's "Blunt After Blunt" video (directed by ASAP Rocky) dropping, Tyler, The Creator took to Twitter with this: "The Term Video Director Is Thrown Around Very Loosely Now Days." Looks like we weren't the only ones that saw Tyler's comment. ASAP Rocky's friend and associate ASAP Ant also took notice. He Tweeted this before our article even went up: "ill smack the sh*t outta you RT @f*cktyler The Term Video Director Is Thrown Around Very Loosely Now Days." (Complex)
