Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj may need to start hitting the beauty salons as new reports claim her longtime hairstylist Terrence Davidson has decided to leave her side.
Davidson released a statement announcing his decision to move onto greener pastures heading into the weekend.
""I would like to inform the media and supporters that I've decided to step away as hair stylist and wig creator for Nicki Minaj. It has been an amazing experience offering me a chance to express my creativity and exhibit my love for the art form of wig design." (Statement)
He also revealed what new ventures are on deck for himself.
"I have decided to part ways from Nicki Minaj because I would like to explore other opportunities within my own brand and re-energize my creativity through work in fashion editorial, beauty consultations, media personality, 'how-to' lectures and hair show development. I am very proud of the body of work built with Nicki Minaj and I appreciate the support over the years from fans who've expressed love for my craft. Look forward to seeing me larger than life in 2013" (Statement)
According to reports, Terrence has worked with Nicki for the past three years.
Last night, Terrence Davidson, the man behind Nicki Minaj's wig selection for the last three years announced that he has parted ways with the star after a few creative differences. This is sort of a big deal being that Nicki Minaj's hair has become a huge part of her brand and the last thing she needs right now is to have to look for someone new in the midst of her hectic American Idol schedule. The news comes just days before Minaj prepares for her "American Idol" television debut.
Though we'll miss Davidson's awesome and creative hair artistry, we have to admit we are loving Minaj's new tamed look. During her "Idol" press tour, the star rocked some funky yet toned-down wigs. She is currently making statements with her ensembles (which are also noticeably toned down) rather than just her hair. We understand Minaj wants really wants America to take her seriously on "Idol," especially after her co-judge Mariah Carey slammed her as being "inadequate." However, being serious doesn't have to mean be boring. We love the tamed Nicki Minaj but hopefully she won't do away with her famous quirky and colorful style all together. (Fashion N Style)
