Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill has decided to let his voice be heard after taking some criticism from former Bad Boy Records artist Shyne over his association to boss Rick Ross.
Meek hit Shyne directly over Twitter and questioned his issues with himself and, presumably, newcomers like West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar.
"Ayo @OriginalShyne I see u hate all the young niggas that's out here getting! I can't respect ya for that!," he tweeted January 6th.
"A @OriginalShyne talkin about shout out 2 a n*gga that's no good in the hood..I'm in my hood right now..iced out foreign whips..That's not G"
"Y'all n*ggas better start seeing what's really going on in the streets b4 y'all open y'all mouth! I'm in every city doing me!" (Meek Mill's Twitter)
After initially slamming Meek, Shyne clarified his comments and said he still respected him.
"@MeekMill truth ain't hate! @CASSIDY_LARSINY ate your food! Your boss is Donnie brasco I got zero respect for that young!," Shyne tweeted January 7th.
"@MeekMill your great wit the raps! You in the streets, ok! But your boss is Donnie Brasco! Ice T from new jack city! How u justify that?"
"I always said that @MeekMill was that deal! He rapping bout a life he really lived! A life I really lived! He feed his hood. #Respect"
"I signed to puff in order to eat so I can't be mad @MeekMill for the business moves he making. That's why I always supported meek.#Respect"
"All ganglandmilitary payhomage to @MeekMill a street general living by the rules of honor & integrity! HeyoungGettingit &giving to hispeople" (Shyne's Twitter)
In October, Shyne Po went at Meek's boss for dropping his Jewish-inspired Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape.
"Yo listen blood, [he's] a straight cornball and I been saying that for a minute now. And one thing about Shyne Po, Shyne Po is consistent. I always speak my mind. I just find it curious that when Shyne Po do his Judaism thing and I'm on my Israelite thing, dudes was taking shots and poking fun at that and now, fat boy is coming out with Black Bar Mitzvah [mixtape]," Shyne said in an interview. "I have a lot of issues with him, but my most important issue is that to me, old boy is like Donnie Brasco. Dudes always say, he makes good music. It's not about that. It's about the integrity." Last month, West Coast rapper Game scolded him for labeling Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city solo album trash.
"I'm very nervous, man, Shyne is on the Top 10 Most Wanted list, F.B.I.," Game said in an interview. "It started, he came atKendrick Lamar, that's my little homie -- plus the [good kid, m.A.A.d city] album was a good album, he said it was trash. So I had to jump out the window on him and step up for my Coast. Doing ten years in jail, dropping soap everyday, being a little lowkey butt pirate for ten years, it can change your life. Certain things going up in ya for ten years, you come out a different guy. Feeling different, rapping different, 'Game isn't a Blood. Big Boy, he can't see Shyne Po. I'm in Paris. I'm with the fairies.' ... You just can't beat that guy." ("Big Boy's Neighborhood")
