News: Kobe Finally Addresses Drake's Vanessa Bryant Diss

A year after Young Money's Drake took a swipe at NBA superstar Kobe Bryant's wife, Vanessa, on "Stay Schemin'," the Los Angeles Laker has finally spoken out.
Rather than side with Drizzy, Kobe showed love and support for his wife's role in their marriage.
Although he just started using twitter earlier this month, Kobe Bryant is already making headlines over his tweets. Kobe defended his wife over a comment one of his followers sent him in response to a picture he posted of him and his wife. The fan wrote "but... #shewasntshootingwithyouinthegym" to which Kobe replied "no, she wasn't. She was busy raising our kids. #nonanny #respectmothers." (VIBE)
Earlier this month, Vanessa lashed out over Drizzy's lyrics and blasted his relationship with her husband.
"I love when immature kids quote a rapper that has never been friends with Kobe and knows nothing about our relationship. Just shows how gullible they are. I don't need to be in the gym. I'm raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life. [...] I really wish people would stop THINK and then realize that they are being sucked into someone's clear intention to monetize and gain attention off of our family's heartache. This is real life. I hold down our home life so my husband can focus on his career. It's a partnership. Since my husband isn't friends with Drake, we received a text of an apology forwarded from his manager. It's done and over with and it's now time for people to THINK before speaking." (Necole Bitchie)
Last year, Drizzy publicly apologized for speaking on their relationship and called Kobe a friend.
"That line came from a conversation about being this young and making this much money and the fear of losing it all. I just used his potential situation to address my own life. I never intended to offend Vanessa or anyone else. That line had everything to do with me and what goes on in my head as a 25 year old man with this much income flowing in. Kobe is and always will be a friend and an icon to me." (Nah Right)
Speculation on the rapper's lethal words developed following the song's release in early January 2012.
I don't know if you want Drake as the rapper defending you in matters of the heart, but at least someone is looking at for Kobe Bryant in his divorce. Rick Ross came out with a mix tape the other day and everyone is talking about this line from Drizzy. If we are talking about authenticity from our rappers, the maximum Kobe will lose is around $75 million, but I am nitpicking. I much prefer rapper Drake than Gerald Levert Drake, so I can dig it. I have no ill will toward Vanessa, no one put a gun to Kobe's head and told him to marry her (maybe a statutory rape case, but that is another story for another time). You have to understand if you marry someone and you sitting on millions and they are sitting on Little Debbies, it will probably not end well for you in the divorce. (Black Sports Online)
