[With his Juvenile-featured "New Warleans" anthem still buzzing and a new home at 50 Cent's G-Unit Records, New Orleans rapper Kidd Kidd gives SOHH readers the inside on his relationship with both hip-hop stars.]
Juvenile is a straight forward dude at the end of the day. He was just telling me to keep coming with the music and doing it the way I'm doing it [on the "New Warleans" music video set.] He reminded me to just keep it real and let the people know what's going on with my story.
That's what it's all about. I want to give people my story. From talking to Juvie, I know that people are going to be able to relate to my story. That's what he really told me. He said, "Man, I love what you do and how you do it." For real.
It's all about the movement. He's been following my movement and I've had time to work with him on his stuff. Shout-out to Juvie. You know he's a legend, definitely in the city.
A lot of people didn't get up on Juvie until [1998's] 400 Degreez but you've got to know the old Juvie. You've got to know the soldier rag Juvie. For real. When you get to that Juvie, you're going to say, "Whoa." Shout-out to him because he took it back to that soldier rag [version of himself] on that "New Warleans" joint. It came out a beast. The hottest song out right now.
It's G-Unit and Rida Gang. It's us or nothing. For real. I tell people this all the time, me and 50 [Cent], it's like the saying, "Real recognize Real" and I really feel like me and Fif would be good friends even without the music. If we wasn't doing music, we'd probably still link up and be good friends.
I'm just living, man. I'm living every day like it's Friday.
