Hip-hop wise, I'm going to name Pusha T. I've been listening to Push for years. I feel like he's just now starting to get [the attention].

Cats are all like, "Who's this new guy?" No. I feel like he hasn't changed anything. He's still talking that, I don't know how to describe it. I don't want to say elevated street music, like Rick Ross, I feel Pusha T is one of the most underrated cats out there because if you look at his versatility, he can hop on a record with a female or rap on a record with a D-boy. His versatility is there.

I feel like his image may be why they don't give him enough credit because he's not always holding babies and shaking hands. You know what I'm saying?

With that being said, he's always stuck to the same lane. He's never been, aside from being affiliated with Pharrell in the early days when he was getting notoriety, I feel like him separating himself from his brother and doing it solo, it gives people a chance to focus in on him.

Now people are going to be able to say, "Okay. Uh-oh, d*mn, I'm paying attention to this guy right now."

People don't always pay attention to you often when there's two artists. It's like you get singled out as one whole artist and they judge you on two people. When it's just him, I feel like people really have a chance to know his character now and see where he's coming from.

He might have issues with someone like [Lil] Wayne and you may not agree with it, but you still see, at the root, what this man is talking about. I feel like people never really had a chance to single out and pay attention to what he was doing when he was in the group and now, because he's with Kanye, people will look and pay dividends because it's all about association in this game.

People are going to be like, "Oh, he's signed to Kanye? He's dope! He's been dope!"

My man's been killing it for years.

J Star lives his life without boundaries or limitations, dominating his craft every step of the way. The Jamaica West Indies born actor turned rap artist translates his musical passion into innovative lyrics over fresh beats, making him a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop world. Born in Jamaica West Indies now a citizen of Canada residing in Toronto with Vancouver ties, J Star initially flourished as an actor, but soon felt he needed another avenue to purely express his creativity.
