Moving Monday. We're all over the place to kick things off today, starting first with Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained movie adding more controversy to the flick by selling slave toys? Bad marketing right there. But not as bad as Rick Ross' character in an upcoming TV series. Guns will definitely go blazing for the Boss. Speaking of boss moves, did Jay-Z just add some fresh talent to Roc Nation? All this coming up in SOHH Whatcha Think.

1. Chain Gang Collection

As if the controversy behind Django Unchained seemed to be dying down, everyone look for Spike Lee to start hollering about this latest buzz surrounding the slave-themed flick. It turns out there are now action figures to go with the film's characters, notably, a few of the key slaves. Yes. You can can, for lack of a better expression, buy your own slave? Uh oh. Someone's going to be in the hot seat for this one. The Daily Beast has more:

Academy Award-winner Quentin Tarantino is laughing all the way to the bank this week. The controversial film auteur and his longtime studio chief-partner Harvey Weinstein took a gamble on transforming the atrocities of American slavery into comedic, action-packed entertainment. And the new movie, Django Unchained, which opened Christmas day, bested the glitzy Les Miserables at the box office with numbers indicating that the flick could do as well as, or maybe even better than Tarantino's top-grossers Inglourious Basterds ($120 million) and Pulp Fiction ($107 million). And to build on the Django momentum, there's an entire product line to compliment the Jamie Foxx-fronted spaghetti western/slave revolt/action drama/fantasy tale. (The Daily Beast)

There's much more coverage on this incredible story, so be sure to check out the entire article. The idea, which doesn't initially sound as bad as it really is, sounds profitable but at what costs? While we can imagine Samuel L. Jackson's character from Pulp Fiction or even Uma Thurman's Kill Bill, Vol. 1 & 2 characters to morph into cool desk toys, could anyone really imagine putting these figurines. #SOHHWhatchaThink?

2. Boss Life

It seems like Rick Ross took the road less traveled in his journey to fame, opting out of cashing in on a movie career after his first album and waiting all the way until he had his Maybach Music Group empire to invade the Hollywood scene. Miss Info has the scoop on Ross' first crack at acting:

This is really happening. Rick Ross has crossed over into the acting world with his debut role in the upcoming second season of the Starz series, Magic City. It's a Miami mafia based show set in the 1950s and looks like it was Godfather influenced. Rozay plays a character known as The Bolita Boss. From the trailer a;; we know is tha one of his lines is: "God is good... until he ain't" and he fires off a shotgun at the end. Haha! Look out for season 2 this spring. (Miss Info TV)

You have to jump to the 1:35 mark to really catch a good glimpse of Rick Ross doing some acting. Sadly enough, despite this taking place in the 1950's, Ross seems to be his same 2000's version of himself. Couldn't he have at least lost the shades? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

3. Bad Boy 4 Life

It looks like Jay-Z is not willing to wait along for his golden goose which makes up Jay Electronica to hatch and is looking for some local love to blow up on Roc Nation. Where is Jay looking toward? Why not homegrown Brooklyn, New York rapper Joey Bada$$? He's got a growing buzz, reps the same neck of the woods as Hov and he's not even old enough to legally vote. All Hip Hop Rumors has more:

LISTEN: Hip-Hop is doing just fine. Even though it may not be exactly what we want, it really hasn't been that since the very beginning. Now, Jay-Z is the don of dons to this day in Hip-Hop. Really like what dude is doing, even though he has his fair share of critics. With the rumors that he's moving on, I am hearing Jigga man has signed the boy Joey Bada$$ to THE ROC! Man, the kid Joey is only 17 but he's got bars of fury! Furthermore, Joey is from Brooklyn! Wow. He's got that 90?s rawness! Jay is smart for this one, should it be totally true. I gotta give it up. This is smart, because this young man is hungry. Rumor has it, Jay has given up on Jay Electronica. (AHH Rumors)

Could the tide be turning for Jay Electronica? He was once the most sought-out rapper, with Diddy having hurt feelings because he went to Jay's Roc Nation. Jay-Z. J. Cole. Jay Electronica. And now Joey Bada$$? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

That about wraps it up for today. This is SOHH On The Spot giving you the morning scoop from your favorite gossip sites.
