R&B singer Chris Brown has fallen victim to the latest series of local Hollywood pranks involving cops getting called to criminal activity in the area only to find out nothing is wrong.
According to reports, Chris Breezy's crib got surrounded by police Monday (January 21).
Cops raced to Chris Brown's Hollywood Hills home Monday afternoon ... after someone called 911 and reported a domestic incident involving a gun, but we're told it was all a prank. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the caller claimed a mother and father were in a fight and the father went to another room in the house to get a gun. At that point the caller hung up, never mentioning it was Chris Brown's house. When cops arrived there was no evidence of a gunman or for that matter any dispute. (TMZ)
The mega R&B star, fortunately, was not home when this all went down.
Chris was NOT home at the time. This is the latest in a string of swatting incidents involving celebs, the most recent being last Friday when someone falsely reported a man with a gun in the home of Kris and Bruce Jenner. LAPD law enforcement sources tell us ... they are determined to catch the culprits ... and STAT. (TMZ)
Other high-profile celebrities have also fallen victim to the prank including Hollywood mogul Tom Cruise.
It's the latest so-called "swatting" prank targeting celebrities. The practice is intended to get multiple officers, including specialized SWAT teams sent to a home. Last week, Beverly Hills police responded to a fake armed robbery call at Tom Cruise's house. Other hoax calls have been made involving the homes of Justin Bieber, Ashton Kutcher and Miley Cyrus. Outside of pranks, Brown is reportedly working on a new record with R&B diva Rihanna.
Rihanna and Chris Brown are, once again, making beautiful music together. On the heels of their recent collaboration, "Nobodies Business," a rep for Breezy tells E! News that the two are indeed currently working on another single. Which certainly explains why the duo was spotted leaving, albeit separately, from a recording studio in West Hollywood on Thursday night. This will be the fourth collaboration of sorts for Rihanna and Brown. (E! Online)
