Exclusive: 13 Things To Watch For In '13: "Kat Stacks Will Probably Sleep W/ A Married Sports Star"
Tuesday, Jan 15, 2013 12:05AM
[As 2012 fades away with memories of M.I.A. flipping off America at Super Bowl XLVI, LeBron James getting his championship and Lil B trying out for the Golden State Warriors, SOHH's dropping a daily list of the 13 biggest things to look for in '13. Today, we're blowing the whistle on sports; which events are guaranteed to spark an uproar.]
1. The New York Knicks Championship Run
The story is set. Carmelo Anthony helps take his New York Knicks to the NBA Finals and seals the deal, that is with Honey Nut Cheerios asking for him and Lala Vazquez to consider being officlal spokespersons. There's plenty of NBA teams capable of going to the championship, 29 to be exact, but since we consider ourselves New York bias, we're calling the Orange & Blue to set the stage this year!
2. Beyoncé & Destiny Child's Superbowl Performance
How do you top last year's Madonna Super Bowl XLVI performance, which helped the game become one of the most watched events in television history? Throw Beyoncé on stage at halftime and add her estranged group members Kelly and Michelle to light up the party. This has become such a big story that no one really cares who is actually "playing" in the Super Bowl XLVII game but rather what Bey's gonna be rocking.
3. Los Angeles Lakers Miss The Playoffs
It's not going to be the biggest sports story of the year especially because the Lakers are barely playing good basketball as it is, but them not making it into the playoffs after a 2011 offseason that practically punched their tickets to at least the Western Conference Finals if not the Finals altogether would be crushing. Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant and a supporting cast that includes Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace and the Laker girls? It's going to be a long off-season when Kobe has to watch Carmelo shining his ring on Instagram.
4. Lil Wayne Enters X-Games Competition
It was just about a year ago when Lil Wayne said he was going to be the best skateboarder alive come this time. Well, it's time to either put up or show up and barring he doesn't treat that proclamation like an album release date, Weezy will come through on the promise. But we're going to want to see him do more than jump in the air at his crib's skateboarding arena. Wayne's going to shock the world, or at least hip-hop heads, by joining an X-Games ESPN competition. Now that's something worth setting the DVR for.
5. Kat Stacks Will Probably Sleep W/ A Married Sports Star
Kat Stacks may be claiming she's a changed woman and living the righteous life, but once the Internet starts begging for a lil' Kat Stacks clawing, we're going to see a return of the Kat and what better way than take her craft beyond regular rappers (sorry, Soulja Boy Tell Em) and stepping it up to sports stars? We've already seen LeBron James partying and rapping in the Miami clubs and Dallas Cowboys star Dez Bryant has ran into issues out in Miami, even the Yankees' Alex Rodriguez calls M.I.A. home. Someting tells us Stacks will get the cameras rolling in a certain sports star's hotel room later this year.
Be sure to check back tomorrow when we tackle down what albums will pop and flop this year!
