I'm not in a gang, what difference does it make?" Katt also told our photog there were no drugs at his house -- well ... he admits there was weed, but says, "Weed is not a drug." (TMZ)
Details and reports of the arrest made headlines late Friday night.
Katt Williams was arrested Friday for allegedly endangering his 4 children ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Over the past month, Katt has ran into a bunch of publicized legal woes including an altercation with a now-former Target employee and Subway restaurant incident.
At the start of the month, a video of Williams slapping a Target employee before escaping on an electric cart went viral, and Williams said that the incident occurred because the clerk used a racial epithet to refer to him. (In late November, the comic was also involved in a police chase.) Before the child endangerment arrest, Katt Williams was also implicated in a bar brawl, kicked out of a hotel, detained by police at a Subway restaurant, and it was revealed the stand-up also was hit with a $4 million tax lien. Despite the negative press, Williams claimed the Target worker sparked his physical assault.
"Let me tell you what the dude at Target said. This is what the dude at Target said. 'Your assistant is already suing you, ol' p**sy a** n****r,'" Katt told a group of people at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. "I said, 'Did you just say the N-word in front of Katt Williams?.' He said, 'You say it all the time.' I said, 'Say it again and see what happens.' End of story. If you white and you call me a n****r, I'm gonna punch you in your motherf*cking face too. That's the same sh*t that drove Dave Chappelle out the f*cking business." (YouTube)
