Taylor Gang leader Wiz Khalifa has dished out his love for New York rapper Cam'ron and just how much the Dipset boss influences his own movements.
While discussing their "The Bluff" collaboration, Khalifa delved into his respect for Killa Cam.
"This song is awesome cause its a super f*ckin' dream come true for me. If anybody doesn't know, I f*ckin' love Cam'ron. That n*gga had such an influence on me, my style," Wiz said. "And I never even thought I would ever get to meet him, let alone do a song with him. So it's like Snoop, Cam, Juicy J, and anybody from Wu-Tang, they was like all my n*ggas man.. and Bone! They all got the same place in my heart. So me doing this song with Cam was really big." (Miss Info TV)
Their new collaboration's music video officially premiered online this week.
Wiz Khalifa gets high with Cam'ron in the video for "The Bluff." The rappers, who both share the first name Cameron, rock fur coats as they kick it in Cam's native New York. They count their paper and meet up at the laundromat, while boasting about their bank accounts on the laid-back cut, which will appear on Wiz' upcoming album O.N.I.F.C. (Dec. 4). (Rap-Up)
Back in 2010, Wiz spoke on wanting to work with rap veterans like Cam for his Rolling Papers Atlantic Records debut.
"I wanna work with Cam'ron, trying to get Cam'ron on the album. [Twitter trending topic] 'CamronSays,' Cam'ron's my man, a lot of people don't know I started that. I did, me. Shout-out to Killa. I want to get Killa on the album." (Power 92.1)
Recently, the Pittsburgh rapper talked about his new LP's content and delay.
"There was always a happy medium," Wiz told us. "It's just like I said, you gotta express those views and that's where I said I was at, at that point with me more or less having to express my views and make those stick." Khalifa insists that there is no problem between him and the powerhouse label. "It's nobody's problem or anything like that. That's just where we was at, at the time," he said. As far as O.N.I.F.C. goes, Wiz promises that it will come before the end of the year after missing its initial August 28 date and its September 18 make-up date. "The album is completely done and that's what it was, just getting it all the way finished," Khalifa said before comparing it to last year's Rolling Papers. "You can just expect it to be more musical. All the elements that you're used to getting from a quote-unquote 'Wiz project,' you're gonna get every last one of those elements, whereas I feel like the first album lacked some of those elements."
